Ingredients:

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) red velvet cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 24 Hershey's Kisses

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the red velvet cake mix, softened butter, and egg. Mix on low speed just until the flour streaks disappear.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  4. Scoop about 1 tablespoon of dough and roll it between your palms to create a smooth sphere.
  5. Roll each dough ball in granulated sugar until evenly coated.
  6. Place the sugar-coated balls 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 8–10 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers remain slightly soft.
  8. Immediately upon removing from the oven, press one chocolate kiss firmly into the center of each cookie.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes before moving.
