Ingredients:

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 oz mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 pack (12 count) Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp paprika

Instructions:

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, seasoning it with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Break the meat apart with a spatula and cook until browned and fragrant. Drain any excess grease.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Without separating the rolls, slice the entire slab of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally.
  3. Place the bottom half of the rolls into a 9x13-inch baking dish. Layer half of the shredded cheddar, followed by the cooked beef mixture, then top with the mozzarella and the remaining cheddar. Place the top bun slab firmly over the filling.
  4. Whisk together the melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, and paprika. Use a pastry brush to coat the tops of the buns generously.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and the buns have turned a deep mahogany gold.
