Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1 tsp (5ml) clear vanilla extract
  • 3 1/2 cups (420g) powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1/4 tsp (1.5g) fine salt
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) heavy cream
  • 1 drop (0.5ml) vanilla bean paste

Instructions:

  1. Beat the softened butter on medium-high speed for 3 to 5 minutes until the butter transforms from a yellow hue to a pale, almost white ivory color and feels light and whipped.
  2. Reduce the mixer speed to low. Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar and salt one cup at a time, mixing until just combined after each addition.
  3. Increase the mixer to medium speed for 1 minute to ensure the frosting is completely homogenous.
  4. Add the vanilla extract, vanilla bean paste, and heavy cream. Beat on high for an additional 2 minutes until the frosting looks glossy and holds a stiff peak.
