Ingredients:
- 1 medium lemon, cut into 6-8 wedges
- 1/4 cup (50g) granulated white sugar
- 1 cup (240ml) ice-cold water
- 1 cup (240ml) crushed ice
- 1 thin lemon wheel
- 1 sprig of fresh mint
Instructions:
- Wash the lemon thoroughly. Cut the lemon into equal wedges, ensuring you remove any visible seeds to prevent bitterness. Place 3-4 wedges into the bottom of your shaker or mason jar.
- Pour the granulated sugar over the lemon wedges. Use your muddler or the back of a wooden spoon to press and twist the lemons firmly into the sugar. Continue until the sugar looks moist and the lemons are completely broken down.
- Fill the shaker halfway with ice and pour in the cold water. Seal the lid tightly and shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
- Fill a chilled glass to the brim with fresh ice. Pour the lemonade through a strainer (if desired) or simply dump the entire contents of the shaker—including the muddled lemons—into the glass. Top with a lemon wheel and mint.
