Ingredients:

  • 1 medium lemon, cut into 6-8 wedges
  • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated white sugar
  • 1 cup (240ml) ice-cold water
  • 1 cup (240ml) crushed ice
  • 1 thin lemon wheel
  • 1 sprig of fresh mint

Instructions:

  1. Wash the lemon thoroughly. Cut the lemon into equal wedges, ensuring you remove any visible seeds to prevent bitterness. Place 3-4 wedges into the bottom of your shaker or mason jar.
  2. Pour the granulated sugar over the lemon wedges. Use your muddler or the back of a wooden spoon to press and twist the lemons firmly into the sugar. Continue until the sugar looks moist and the lemons are completely broken down.
  3. Fill the shaker halfway with ice and pour in the cold water. Seal the lid tightly and shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
  4. Fill a chilled glass to the brim with fresh ice. Pour the lemonade through a strainer (if desired) or simply dump the entire contents of the shaker—including the muddled lemons—into the glass. Top with a lemon wheel and mint.
