Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp cracked black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Instructions:

  1. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and season evenly with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a 12-inch cast iron skillet or heavy-bottomed stainless steel pan over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
  3. Arrange chicken in the pan without overcrowding; sear for 3–4 minutes per side until a deep golden-brown crust forms. Remove chicken from the pan and set aside.
  4. Lower the heat to medium. Melt the butter in the same pan, and once foaming, add the minced garlic. Sauté for 60–90 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the honey, soy sauce, and vinegar. Whisk constantly for 2–3 minutes until the sauce bubbles and thickens into a glossy, syrupy consistency.
  6. Return the seared chicken to the skillet and toss rapidly for 1–2 minutes until every piece is coated in the glaze. Remove from heat immediately.
