- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1 tbsp hot sauce
Instructions:
- Pat the chicken completely dry with paper towels to remove surface moisture.
- Season the meat evenly with salt and pepper.
- Let the meat sit at room temperature for 15 minutes to ensure an even cook.
- Toss the chicken in the seasoned flour mixture (flour, baking powder, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne) until lightly coated, shaking off the excess.
- Dip the floured chicken into the beaten eggs and milk mixture.
- Press the chicken firmly back into the flour mixture, using fingers to create textured crags in the breading.
- Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (198°C).
- Arrange the chicken in a single layer in the basket without overlapping.
- Spray the tops generously with oil and air fry for 20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches the safe minimum.
