  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce

Instructions:

  1. Pat the chicken completely dry with paper towels to remove surface moisture.
  2. Season the meat evenly with salt and pepper.
  3. Let the meat sit at room temperature for 15 minutes to ensure an even cook.
  4. Toss the chicken in the seasoned flour mixture (flour, baking powder, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne) until lightly coated, shaking off the excess.
  5. Dip the floured chicken into the beaten eggs and milk mixture.
  6. Press the chicken firmly back into the flour mixture, using fingers to create textured crags in the breading.
  7. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (198°C).
  8. Arrange the chicken in a single layer in the basket without overlapping.
  9. Spray the tops generously with oil and air fry for 20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches the safe minimum.
