Ingredients:

  • 225 g unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 200 g granulated sugar
  • 50 g large egg
  • 6 ml vanilla extract
  • 280 g all-purpose flour
  • 3 g baking soda
  • 1.5 g salt
  • 115 g cream cheese, softened
  • 57 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 240 g powdered sugar
  • 5 ml vanilla extract
  • 15-30 ml heavy cream or milk (if needed for consistency)
  • 30 g red and green sprinkles (jimmies)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line your 9x13 pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
  2. Cream the softened butter and sugar until the mixture looks pale and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla until fully incorporated.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt, then gradually stir into the wet ingredients. Mix just until the white streaks of flour disappear.
  4. Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan using a spatula. Bake for 15–18 minutes until the edges are barely golden, and the center still looks slightly underbaked.
  5. Beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth. Slowly add the powdered sugar and vanilla. If needed for consistency, add heavy cream one tablespoon at a time.
  6. Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled bars and top with red and green sprinkles.
