Ingredients:
- 225 g unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 200 g granulated sugar
- 50 g large egg
- 6 ml vanilla extract
- 280 g all-purpose flour
- 3 g baking soda
- 1.5 g salt
- 115 g cream cheese, softened
- 57 g unsalted butter, softened
- 240 g powdered sugar
- 5 ml vanilla extract
- 15-30 ml heavy cream or milk (if needed for consistency)
- 30 g red and green sprinkles (jimmies)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line your 9x13 pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
- Cream the softened butter and sugar until the mixture looks pale and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla until fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt, then gradually stir into the wet ingredients. Mix just until the white streaks of flour disappear.
- Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan using a spatula. Bake for 15–18 minutes until the edges are barely golden, and the center still looks slightly underbaked.
- Beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth. Slowly add the powdered sugar and vanilla. If needed for consistency, add heavy cream one tablespoon at a time.
- Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled bars and top with red and green sprinkles.
