Ingredients:
- ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter
- 12-15 (approx. 2g) fresh sage leaves, whole
- 2 cloves (6g) garlic, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp (5ml) fresh lemon juice
- ¼ tsp (1.5g) kosher salt
- ¼ tsp (0.5g) freshly cracked black pepper
Instructions:
- Place the unsalted butter in a light-colored skillet over medium heat and allow it to melt completely until it begins to bubble and foam.
- Continue heating the butter until the foaming subsides and small, golden-brown milk solids form at the bottom of the pan, emitting a toasted, nutty aroma.
- Immediately add the fresh sage leaves and sliced garlic. Sizzle the sage for 30-60 seconds and stir the garlic constantly for 1 minute until softened and golden.
- Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the salt, black pepper, and lemon juice to balance the richness.
